YEREVAN. – It is obvious that there is always tension around Karabakh ahead of, during or after meetings at different levels, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said during the meeting at French University in Armenia.

The Ministry has certain reports about the presence of snipers at the front line of the opponent, and they are violating ceasefire regime.

“We must understand that we are dealing with a neighbor who is not fully aware that the only way to resolve the conflict is a peaceful, diplomatic way. Instead of creating an atmosphere of trust and dialogue, Azerbaijan periodically escalates the situation. It is especially unacceptable to us when the situation is escalated on the borders with Armenia, since the main conflict is between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh,” Minister Ohanyan said.

As reported earlier, Azerbaijani side increased the frequency of ceasefire violation cases on the border with Armenia. The reports were confirmed by spokesperson for Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan.

Besides, an Armenian military serviceman was wounded on Monday as a result of the irregular shots the adversary had fired.
