YEREVAN. – Violence against women is still a serious problem in Armenia, UNICEF Representative in Armenia Henriette Ahrens said on Monday.
According to police reports, nearly 1,500 women experienced domestic violence in January-August 2015, Ahrens said during a press conference dedicated to the launch of “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.
“The UN office in Armenia calls to stop violence against women and once again expresses support to protection of the rights of women,” she added.
