Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said Turkey’s decision to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli on April 24 is not appropriate.
The Minister recalled that Serzh Sargsyan invited his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erodgan to visit Armenia in April 2015 when Armenians mark centennial of the Armenian Genocide.
“We did not receive any response,” he said during a press conference in Brussels.
Meanwhile, the Armenian leader responded to Turkey’s invitation immediately, Nalbandian added.
“Anyway, I do not think that maybe it is not very appropriate to organize, especially in Turkey, something on 24 of April, and I could not believe that anybody in the world can understand it in a proper way,” the Minister resumed.
