YEREVAN. – I can’t say whether the Turkish president’s commemorating on April 24, 2015, the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli and inviting the world leaders on this occasion is a good, or a bad idea.

German Ambassador to Armenia Reiner Morell stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday, commenting on Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s decision to celebrate the centennial of this battle on the same day as the centenary of the Armenian Genocide.

But, as per the German diplomat, each and every country is certainly free to make its choice.

“And he who receives an invitation is free in perceiving the meaning of this invitation, and in judging whether this was a good, or a bad idea,” Morell specifically noted.
