Turkey is expected to participate in the “Armenia-2010” joint exercise on eliminating consequences of emergency situations to be held in Armenia this September.

Speaking to Today’s Zaman on condition of anonymity, Turkish diplomatic sources said the Armenian-Turkish border may be opened temporarily. According to them, the Turkish side responded favorably to the proposal when the question was raised at NATO headquarters in Brussels. However, the Turkish foreign ministry officials emphasized that the border will be closed again after the exercises end.
