Turkey intends to construct special boats on the occasion of the reopening of Surb Khach church on Akhtamar Island for religious ceremonies on September 19, Asbarez reports, referring to Hurriyet.

According to the ship owners, the new boats will conform to the EU standards. There would be a lavatory, kitchen and a lounge on the boats, the local ship builder Suat Belek said. The price of each boat is estimated at about $42,000.

The source notes that speaking with the journalists, Van’s Governor Munir Karaloglu stated that the local officials would do their utmost to host the guests who came to religious ceremonies in the best way.
