YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily has learned that well-known American philanthropist Jon Huntsman is stopping all his projects which he was carrying out in Armenia. Huntsman had made such a decision already last year, the daily reported.
“Apparently, the reason is that his name was strongly affected in the US by appearing at the focus of the money laundering case linked to [The] Civilitas [Foundation in Armenia], and Huntsman has lost confidence in his Armenian partners.
“And even though Huntsman’s organization has no financial problems and, prior to that, he had announced about the implementation of several new educational and health projects, in Armenia, which were envisioning a several-million dollar investment, he has announced about abandoning these projects,” Hraparak wrote.
