YEREVAN. – Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan on Monday received USAID/Armenia Mission Director Karen Hilliard, and Democracy and Human Rights Office Director Alyson McFarland.

Hilliard noted that the Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Ministry is one of USAID’s most trusted partners in Armenia, and they are happy for the opportunity for further cooperation. Speaking about the USAID activities in Armenia, Hilliard stated that their priority is to ensure economic stability in the communities, establish productive collaboration between the local governments and the residents, and make the voice of civil society be heard with respect to community management.

In response, Yeritsyan reflected on the matter of enlarging Armenia’s communities and the respective effectiveness and expectations. Speaking about the needs of the country’s farmers, the Armenian minister especially underscored residence construction and job creation in the communities.
