Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country had extended a hand of friendship to Armenia.

During his official visit to Columbia, Erdogan spoke about Armenia-Turkey relations and the 1915 events claiming that Turkey is sincerely interested in fair presentation of the developments that took place in that period of time.

“We know that Armenian Diaspora has launched a negative campaign against Turkey. We have spared no efforts for opening a new chapter. On the 100th anniversary we offered to transfer the issue from political into scientific level. We have invited to Gallipoli on April 24, but Armenia closed the door of peace,” he said.
