YEREVAN. – The “National Union of Sinjar Yezidis” NGO of Armenia has issued a statement.

In the announcement, the NGO called for adding the Yezidis in the text of the National Assembly of Armenia statement with respect to the nations which were subjected to Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.   

“It is known that until 1914, solely 14 thousand of the 200 thousand Yezidi families living in the Ottoman Empire were able to survive, and the Yezidis continued to be subjected to subsequent persecution, too, on charges of keeping Armenian refugees in their homes.  

“The ‘National Union of Sinjar Yezidis’ NGO (…) calls upon to make the necessary changes in the said draft statement,” the NGO’s statement specifically runs.
