YEREVAN. – It was logical that Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan withdrew the Armenian-Turkish protocols from the parliament, opposition MP and former Foreign Minister Alexander Arzumanyan told reporters on Tuesday.
He added, however, that he was expecting the President to recall these documents several months ago.
“When Serzh Sargsyan announced at the UN [General Assembly in September 2014] ‘to hell with your [ratification of the] protocols,’ it was clear that the next step was to be the withdrawal of the protocols. But I can’t say why this process lasted for months,” Arzumanyan said.
As reported earlier, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday addressed with a letter to National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan, and informed him that he has decided to recall the Armenian-Turkish protocols from the NA.
