The statement by the Heads of delegation of the OSCE MG Co-Chair countries in Almaty is positive for us, it was beneficial for Armenia, political scientist Stepan Grigoryan stated at the July 19 press conference.

According to him, the statement wrecked Azerbaijani claims. “The constant statements by Baku and Ankara on the return of territories are challenges to Armenia. The Foreign Ministers of OSCE MG Co-Chair countries gave an adequate response, stressing the proposed elements have been conceived as an integrated whole, and any attempt to select some elements over others would make it impossible to achieve a balanced solution. As it is known, Azerbaijan agrees to all the points of the solution package, except for several ones,” he noted.

According to Grigoryan, Armenia would act right if it signed the statement by the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries. If Azerbaijan disclaims one of its liabilities, Minsk Group will have to start recognition process of Nagorno-Karabakh.

As NEWS.am reported previously, the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, Russian Foreign Sergei Lavrov, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, issued a joint statement.
