YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA) draft resolution, which demands that Russian soldier Valery Permyakov—who stands accused in the brutal murder of the Avetisyan family in Armenia’s Gyumri city—be handed over to the Armenian law enforcement, will not yet be debated in the NA plenary session.

Solely 42 MPs voted in favor of including this matter on the parliament agenda, and no one voted against.

The ruling Republican Party of Armenia NA Faction members did not vote, thus foiled the issue, since 66 “for” votes were needed to include this matter on the agenda.

The representatives of the other factions, however, supported this draft resolution introduced by opposition Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan.
