Boulder City of the US Colorado State will recognize April 24 as a day of remembrance of the Armenian Genocide, the local newspaper Boulder Daily Camera reports.

City Councilman George Karakehian opened the City Council meeting by reading a resolution in support of the Day of Remembrance, which will also be recognized at the state level.

Karakehian, who is of Armenian descent, got slightly choked up as he cited Hitler’s words regarding the genocide policy in Europe: "Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" Karakehian asked the people of Boulder to remember the Armenians killed during the Genocide, the newspaper writes.
