Armenian Genocide was also commemorated in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

On Friday a commemoration evening dedicated to the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide was organized at the Armenian Embassy in China, Armenia’s MFA press-service reports.  

The event was attended by Armenians from different parts of China, including students and businessmen. Candle lighting and flower laying ceremonies were held in front of the cross-stone in the courtyard of the Embassy. Attendees observed a minute of silence in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.

‘Grandma’s Tattoos’, a documentary about the Armenian Genocide was screened in the reception hall of the Embassy. 

Events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide have also been held in Shanghai and Hong Kong cities, where photo exhibitions and film screenings were organized. Armenian music evening dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims will be held Saturday in Nanjing city.

In the Parliament reception hall of the Republic of Korea, photo exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place. The events were organized by Korea-Armenia friendship parliamentary group with the support of Armenia’s Embassy in Korea.

The Vietnamese AN VIEN TV company broadcasted special story dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The program noted that 2015 marks the Armenian Genocide Centenary and that the Armenians - 1.5 of which fell victim to the mass killings organized by the Ottoman leadership - were among the Christian minorities living in the territory of the Ottoman Empire.

Within the framework of the same program, “The Blue Book. Political Truth or Historical Fact,” a documentary on the Armenian Genocide by Gagik Karageuzian was shown in Vietnamese.

After the film Raisa Vardanyan, Armenia’s Ambassador to Vietnam,  addressed her speech to the Vietnamese people.
