Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) may abolish the roaming charges of mobile operators on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) after 2017, Kurilchik Alexander, Deputy Director of EEC Anti-Trust Regulation Department said.

“We propose to draw up a draft decision on establishing the roaming price limits for 2016-2017 on the territory of the EEU with its ensuing zero balancing,” he said.  

Kurilchik reminded that the active process of abolishing roaming charges is underway in the EU, RIA Novosti reports.

In February, Kurilchik said that the outgoing call tariffs in the Single Economic Space countries exceed the highest tariff in the EU countries by 3-5 times on the average, outgoing SMSs in roaming exceeding them by 2-3 times and data transfer by 8-21 times.
