YEREVAN. – On Tuesday, a bear attacked Edik Safaryan, 66, a resident of Karaglukh town in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia, and wounded the man who is physically disabled.

Safaryan was initially taken to the Yeghegnadzor city medical center, and subsequently, to capital city Yerevan.

The chief physician at the No. 1 University Clinical Hospital of Yerevan, Karen Sahakyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the man has undergone surgery.

“He is in the intensive care unit at the moment,” he said. “He will be transferred to the ward during the day.”
