Azerbaijan will settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in any case, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said, APA reports.

“There is not any conflict remaining unsettled”, he said.  

According to Mamedyarov, there are reasons for optimism in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: “The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot remain in the existing situation. There is international legal base, as well as 4 US SC resolutions for settlement of the conflict. All countries entering the UN take responsibilities to comply with the resolutions.”

In fact, by force of habit, Mamedyarov didn’t forget to mention that Armenia does not fulfill its obligations. He also accused Armenian leadership of short-sighted policy, as a result of which “this country is isolated from all projects implementing in the South Caucasus”.

Talks between Russian and Azerbaijan MFAs are scheduled on May 25. The issue on the normalization of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is also on the agenda.
