YEREVAN. – It is unrealistic to pin hopes on the Armenian candidates who may win seat in the Turkish parliament in terms of finding solution to the Armenian issue, expert Gevorg Petrosyan said.

Margar Yesayan who is nominated by the ruling Justice and Development Party has good chances to be elected.

“The main opposition Republican People's Party has nominated Selins Ozuzun who leads the election list and has big chances. If the Kurdish party succeeds, we will have three deputies of the Armenian origin in Turkey's parliament which is an unprecendented phenomena,” Petrosyan said.

However, the elected candidates will follow political interests of their party, the nomination of Armenian candidates are directed to solution of their own problems. 

The ruling party is solving international problems: by having an Armenian candidate in the list they can speak about democracy and changes. Republican People's Party, for its part, is showing that it has reached a stage of transformation, trying to form a new political course different from the previous anti-Armenian one. In case of a Kurdish party, the main task is to work with voters among national and religious minorities, the expert concluded.
