YEREVAN. – Friday, June 12, marks the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister of Armenia, statesman Andranik Margaryan.
On this occasion, President Serzh Sargsyan, National Assembly (NA) President Galust Sahakyan, capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan—who is the son of Andranik Margaryan—, ministers, and ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MPs visited Andranik Margaryan’s tomb to pay tribute to his memory.
“He was a man who never burned bridges, who knew that being drastic is not the language of politics. He knew that Motherland is an absolute value,” said RPA Spokesperson and NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, speaking to reporters.
Andranik Margaryan was born in Yerevan on June 12, 1951. He was elected NA deputy in 1995. He served as the Prime Minister of Armenia between 2000 and 2007, until his sudden death on March 25, 2007 from a heart attack.
