YEREVAN. – Opening ceremony of the first phase of the Ministry of Diaspora’s “Come Home 2015” motherland visiting program for the Diaspora Armenian youth was held Monday in capital city Yerevan.

The event brought together Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, the representatives of Yerevan’s respective agencies, and participants in the first phase of this program.

A total of 58 youths—38 of whom Syrian Armenians that have moved to Armenia, and 20 boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 18 from Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, and the US—will partake in the two-week first phase of “Come Home 2015.”

Up to 1,100 Diaspora Armenian teens are expected to visit Armenia in this year’s “Come Home” program, which will be held in eight phases and from June 14 to August 29.

As in previous years, the program will include the four-day camp in Tsaghkadzor resort city.

Hakobyan, in her remarks at the opening ceremony, underscored various Armenian agencies’ assistance to the “Come Home” program.
