YEREVAN. – Armenia might face events resembling Maydan in case of refusal to join Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), head of Prosperous Armenia group Naira Zohrabyan said.

“No, my friends, this could not be ruled out. I say this with full responsibility. I am very glad to note that categorical 'no' from Brussels was replaced by the attitude of the European Commissioner Johannes Hahn, a supporter of a more flexible policy. We must find common ground between the European and Eurasian unions, it is very important to us. Although, it would be better if someone could explain what Armenia has gained or will win by joining the EEU,” Zohrabyan said.

Naira Zohrabyan said she personally supports the European Union, and believes Armenia's place is in the European family.

“But the national interests are first. Let no politician or political force forget about it for the sake of something else,” she emphasized.
