YEREVAN. – Turkey's foreign policy differs much from that of NATO, analyst Davit Shahnazaryan said during the second day of NATO PA Rose-Roth seminar that is held in Yerevan.

Turkey's position on the Islamic States does not coincide with the interests of the Alliance, he said.

“The same is about Armenia-Turkey relation. Armenia-Turkey ties have a key importance for security in the South Caucasus: it is Armenia-NATO border,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Armenia is ready for relations without any preconditions, the analyst added.

“I am deeply convinced that the current situation in Turkey gives hope that Ankara may somehow change its foreign policy and attach importance to relations with EU and NATO,” he said.

Shahnzaryan is hopeful that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will show an unbiased approach to Armenia-Turkey relations.
