YEREVAN. – Pressure on Armenia by means of isolation cannot lead to any serious results, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan said during Rose-Roth seminar in Yerevan.
Russia, he said, is accusing Armenia of pro-Western tendencies, while the West, on the contrary, accuses Armenia of the pro-Russian position. However, Armenia, in the view of Iskandaryan, has managed to establish relations with all countries.
“Armenia wishes to have open border with Turkey without preconditions. Armenia is not linking normalization of relations with Turkey, for example, with the relationship between Turkey and Cyprus,” Iskandaryan said.
Opening of Armenian-Turkish border, however, does not seem possible at this stage. In any event , each border opens, sooner or later, and the closed borders do not benefit anyone, Iskandaryan resumed.
