YEREVAN. – Turkey and Armenia are members of different trade blocks, and there would be no trade even if the border opens tomorrow, said Burcu Gültekin Punsmann, a senior foreign policy analyst at the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey.

Opening of the border could increase competitiveness inside the country, but the rates would be very important given Armenia's membership to the Eurasian Economic Union, Punsman said during Rose-Roth seminar in Yerevan.

Asked whether normalization of relations with Armenia is on Turkey's agenda, she said: “We still do not have government. We will have a coalition government soon, and they will touch upon the matter”.
