YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan, NATO member Turkey, and partially Georgia impose an energy blockade upon Armenia.

President of the E-cube NGO, Ara Marjanyan, on Saturday said the abovementioned at the 89th Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and which is held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

“We cannot distance [ourselves] from the political realities in the energy sector. The energy blockade of Armenia weakens the country’s economy. But, in the current unfavorable situation, Armenia is not going to despair, and moreover, give in.

“The high-voltage [electricity] grid is developing in the south of the republic, with Iranian partners, and in the north, with Georgia. And a new NPP [i.e. nuclear power plant] energy unit is planned to build with the Russian partners,” Marjanyan stressed, in particular.
