As a result of a police operation, 49-year-old Armenian “thief-in-law” Ruben Kosyan—who is known in the criminal world with the nickname, “Ruben Ivanovsky”—was detained in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Thirty grams of hash was found in his possession, for which he could face ten years in prison.

“Without exaggerating, Ruben Kosyan’s arrest can be considered an historic event. There is no other region in Russia where a ‘thief-in-law’ can feel as privileged as Kosyan [felt] in the Ivanovsk region,” reported the Prime Crime news agency. “For 1.5 decades, no attempt was made (...) to bring Kosyan to account.”
