According to the new research published in AERA Open magazine, eagerness to receive education has genetic roots and is passed from parents to children.

The research involved 1594 teenagers, all of whom had brothers and sisters.

The scientists compared the genetic data of all the children and tried to find those areas of genetic code, which are responsible for teenagers’ striving to education. According to the authors, the fact that the children were brothers and sisters allows excluding the impact of the external environment, since the teenagers were brought up and lived in a similar environment, Gazeta.ru reports.

As a result of the research, the scientists managed to confirm that the genes are really responsible for the child’s eagerness to receive education.
