Refusal to cooperate with the Syrian authorities and President Bashar al-Assad is a mistake, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during his speech in the UN General Assembly.

“Today we are providing military and technical support to Iraq, Syria and other countries of the region. Refusal to cooperate with Syrian authorities is a serious mistake. Assad’s government is courageously struggling against terror,” Putin said.

He also urged not to follow ambitions but be governed by common objectives and set up a wide international anti-terrorist coalition.

Putin also called hypocritical the roaring statements on the struggle against terrorism from those who use extremists for achieving their goals.
