Turkish musician Yavuz Bingol made a statement regarding cancellation of Jivan Gasparyan’s concert in Istanbul scheduled for September 1.

According to Haber27, Yavuz Bingol stated that joint concert with Jivan Gasparyan was canceled by the organizers. “Our concert had to be held on March 1 but it was canceled, as mother of one of the musicians had health problems. Then the concert was postponed to April 24 but it the Genocide commemoration day and we shifted it to September 1,” he noted.

He also said that he had come from U.S. to get prepared for the concert but the organizers declared that the concert would not be held without explaining anything. Yavuz Bingol demanded explanations from the organizers.

The Turkish musician also touched upon forthcoming constitutional referendum to be conducted on September 12, saying he would boycott it.
