President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the structure of the UN Security Council unjust, urging to change it.

“There is no single Muslim state among the five permanent members of the UN SC. The world is bigger than five permanent members, which don’t represent all the continents. Is this just? Nearly 200 countries of the world have to obey the whim of one of the five countries. The existing order no longer corresponds to the realias of today; it must be changed,” Erdoğan said today at the meeting of the Association of Legal Research, RIA Novosti reports.   

He proposed increasing the number of the UN Security Council permanent members from 10 to 20 countries on the rotation basis, vesting rights of permanent SC members in them.
