YEREVAN. – Conflict and actions of the Islamic State are directly linked to our region, former Armenian defense minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan said.

The most painful topic is the presence of Karabakh conflict and attempts of Azerbaijan to present it as a religious conflict, he said during the space bridge on international terrorism and ISIS threat in the region.

Harutyunyan believes the second threat for Armenia is relations with Turkey.

“We are in a state of a direct military threat from Turkey, as the Turkish state has been responsible for Armenia's blockade for many years. This is an element of war,” he added.
