Charles Aznavour plans to return to the Olympia theatre in Paris next year. Fifty-five years ago he started his career there. In an interview with Europe-1 radio, 86-year-old Aznavour said that he plans to return to close his period in Olympia. “I will be 87, almost 88, and I must stop at some moment,” he said.

The France-Presse News Agency points out that in 1999 the renowned singer announced his intention to leave the stage. Later, however, he made several concert tours abroad.

In his interview Aznavour said: “May be the star will say: Good bye!”

France-Presse points out that Charles Aznavour, who is Armenian, was appointed RA Ambassador to Switzerland last year.

RFE/RL reports that the renowned singer has recently composed more than 20 songs. He also plans to publish a new book. “I will tell that age has its spring, autumn, winter and summer,” Aznavour said.
