YEREVAN. - The constitutional reforms will allow solving political issues through exactly political means, Eduard Sharmazanov Armenian Parliament vice-speaker and ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Spokesman, said in the parliament today.
The powers of the opposition on the control over the authorities’ actions grow and no authority will be able to adopt unanimous decisions, he said.
Referring to the direct democracy, Sharmazanov said the Armenian citizens will receive the right to propose legislative initiatives through gathering corresponding number of signatures.
“The current system gives everything to the winner and nothing to the loser, regardless of whether he wins 10 or 45% votes. We refuse this path fraught with clashes. Someone might need them, but we need a stronger, more democratic, united and harmonious Armenia,” Sharmazanov said.
