YEREVAN. - Voting against the referendum on constitutional amendments means to vote in favor of the political monopoly and 41 majoritarians.  Armenian Parliament Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am today after the session of the Executive Body of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

“All of you know that “Yes” will achieve incomparable success. Hence, it's necessary to take the two documents and compare them,” Sharmazanov said.

He also noted that the political forces which now oppose the constitutional amendments used to stand for the parliamentary system.

“The preliminary version of the constitutional amendments has changed a lot: different political forces presented their proposals to as many NGOs as possible and took part in discussions. Same Raffi Hovannisian once used to speak on constitutional amendments and parliamentary system. What has changed now?” Sharmazanov said.

Referring to “New Armenia” Front struggling against the constitutional amendments and announcements on power change, Sharmazanov said the latter can be carried out only through elections.

The referendum on constitutional amendments will take place this Sunday.
