YEREVAN. - If the Constitution changes, the disappointment and the migration influx from the country will continue, Armenian National Congress (ANC) member and freedom fighter Myasnik Malkhasyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am. 

He also referred to the issue on the situation of the opposition following those changes, considering the fact that the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) are already within the authorities: “Dashnaktsutyun has declared itself an opposition, but it’s constantly entering into coalitions with the authorities. PAP was cracked up and forced to leave…The situation is rather abnormal.”  

According to Malkhasyan, to launch a powerful struggle, the people must rely on the opposition and be able to distinguish it from the one which can present itself as such, at the same time cooperating with the authorities.  In terms of confidence, the only real power is the one headed by [ex-President] Levon Ter-Petrosyan,” the MP said.

He also stressed that although the authorities want opposition to support it at critical moments, they have at the same time focused their resources on “cracking up” the people and the opposition.
