YEREVAN. – One of the main objectives of the Bright Armenia Party (BAP) is the recovery of the political system, and one of its targets is the very costly system of governance in the country.

Independent MP Edmon Marukyan, who is the architect of BAP, stated the above-said at Saturday’s founding congress of this new political force in Armenia.

“All of our problems (…) are within the political system [of the country],” Marukyan noted. “In our view, we need to have a small government with productive activities. Our party will fight against corruption, and we see the pro-Armenian resolution of the Artsakh [i.e. Nagorno-Karabakh] conflict in a strong economy.”

In the MP’s words, it is impossible to speak about resolving pan-Armenian issues without a strong Armenia.

“As for foreign policy, in the view of our party, in the current state-building developments, it is the institution of designing a European model for Armenia,” Edmon Marukyan added. “We [i.e. Armenia] need to ratify the EU Association Agreement.”

A total of 245 delegates are in attendance to the founding congress of the Bright Armenia Party.
