The protests in Siyazan Region in Azerbaijan, and against the price hikes, have developed into clashes with the police.
In the coming hours, the Office of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country will issue a joint statement on what has occurred, reported Haqqin.az news agency of Azerbaijan.
Additional police forces were brought to the region to restore public order.
The officers of the law used tear gas and rubber bullets against the demonstrators.
The protesters responded by throwing stones at the police.
Law enforcement detained several demonstrators.
There are reports of injuries, whose numbers are being ascertained.
