YEREVAN. – There is a flagrant incompetence within the governance in Azerbaijan, and such conduct will result in a worsening of the crisis in the country.

Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan, stated the above-said at a press conference on Friday.

In his words, Azerbaijan currently has no time to think about Karabakh.

“[But] the Karabakh issue is very useful for Azerbaijan,” Iskandaryan noted at the same time. “Giving up this ‘tool’ would be a very stupid thing for the leadership of Azerbaijan.”

The analyst regretfully added, however, that the Armenian-Azerbaijani border shootings will not be able to be stopped because the Karabakh conflict is a tool for Azerbaijani consolidation.
