YEREVAN. - The publication of post-election voter lists can reveal qualitatively different picture of electoral violations, specifically voting on behalf of others.

Secretary of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction, Aram Manukyan, said the aforementioned in the parliament on Saturday at the 4+4+4 format discussion of the draft Electoral Code of Armenia (4 representatives from authorities, opposition and civil society).

In his words, during the previous parliamentary elections, the ANC revealed 50 facts of voting on behalf of others at 15 polling stations. And if the lists are published, according to Manukyan, it will be possible to receive qualitatively different data: not dozens but thousands will be counted.  Figuratively speaking, there will be 50,000 instead of 50 people, he added.

For his part, lawyer and head of Rule of Law NGO, Artak Zeynalyan, noted that the proxies and observers cannot represent the interests of absolutely everyone. Each citizen must have the opportunity to personally check these facts, he noted.

Responding to this, Chief of Armenian Government Staff - Minister Davit Harutyunyan said that the main beneficiaries of the election are the political powers. It is exactly they who should turn with such complaints when necessary.
