Armenia retains its status as semi-consolidated authoritarian regimes in the Freedom House report titled “Nations in Transit 2016.”

Armenia has scored 5.36 points and has low rating in the survey’s civil society category (3.75). Armenia is 21st in the list of 29 nations in transition.

As to the neighboring countries, Georgia is listed among the states with transitional government or hybrid regime (4.61), while Azerbaijan is named a country with consolidated authoritarian regime with a score of 6.86 – one of the lowest scores in the report.
