In spite of the fact that Russia, Turkey and Iran are in the difficult relations, all three countries recognize the special role of each in the South Caucasus, Russian political scientist, expert of the Russian council of the international relations Sergey Markedonov  said.

And there are, according to the analyst, more distant players - the European Union and the United States, for whom, unlike Russia, Turkey and Iran, the Caucasus is not a primary task.

For them the South Caucasus region is a part of a larger, large-scale canvases, Markedonov said during discussion titled “Lessons  from the Four-Day Karabakh war”.
