The Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) is ready appear as a mediator in the normalization of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Spokesperson for the ROC Primate, priest Alexander Volkov said, RIA Novosti reports.  

In his words, the recent message of the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus'  to the spiritual leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan is indicative of this.

“The Russian Orthodox Church does its best to support the peace process and the activities aimed at peace, which are carried out by Sheikh Pashazadeh and Catholicos Karekin,” Volkov said.
