YEREVAN. – Ambassador Arman Kirakossian, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), on Thursday delivered a statement at the OSCE Permanent Council meeting.

In his remarks, he pointed to Azerbaijan’s latest violations of the norms of international humanitarian law.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the ambassador noted that Armenian settlements and civilians, including children and the elderly, had become a deliberate target during the most recent large-scale attack which Azerbaijan unleashed against Nagorno-Karabakh.

He added that the Azerbaijani social networking websites are full of the photographs of tortured Armenian military servicemen.

Kirakossian stressed that such barbaric actions run contrary to the basic norms of the civilized world, violate fundamental international documents, and bear all traits of war crimes.

The Armenian ambassador informed that the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities have opened criminal cases to investigate all the circumstances behind these massacres.

In addition, the Armenian side underscored the need to condemn these crimes and bring its perpetrators to account.
