YEREVAN. – Armenia and Russia will discuss, by no later than April 29, the method for the payment of the defense loan.

The respective decision was made at Friday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Defense was commissioned to fine-tune the list of the modern armaments and military equipment which Armenia will purchase with this loan, and then to discuss and sign the relevant supply agreement.

The Central Bank of Armenia was instructed to hold talks with Vnesheconombank of Russia, and by no later than April 29, with respect to the procedure for the payment and repayment of this loan.

Pursuant to the signed agreement on providing a national export loan to the Armenian government, the Russian government will give a US$200-million loan to the Armenian government, in order for the latter to purchase modern armaments and military equipment.
