YEREVAN. - Armenia will continue taking consistent measures to prevent the crimes against humanity committed against regional and national minorities in Middle East and to overcome the ensuing humanitarian crisis.
Armenian Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan said the aforementioned Wednesday at the meeting with the leaders and representatives of Armenian, European and Russian Yazidi and Assyrian community institutions.
The representatives of Yazidis and Assyrians thanked for Armenia’s careful attitude to their communities, as well as for the efforts exerted on international platform to put an end to the deportations, persecutions and massacres of Yazidis and Assyrians in the Middle East.
Stressing the centuries-old brotherly ties between the Yazidi and Assyrian peoples, Deputy FM Kocharyan assured that Armenia will continue taking consistent measures to prevent the crimes against humanity committed against regional and national minorities in Middle East and to overcome the ensuing humanitarian crisis.
The possibilities for further strengthening of ties between the friendly peoples in different spheres were also discussed.
