At least ten children were killed as a result of the act of terrorism in Nice, The Telegraph reported.

According to the edition, the lorry driver killed 84 people including ten children.

Earlier it was reported that only 54 children injured in the tragedy in the south of France were taken to one of the hospitals of Nice.

The edition noted that the lorry driver who rammed crowd in the center of Nice began to shoot after being stopped by the armed police officers. The edition sources in law enforcement agencies reported that the driver was a French citizen born in Tunisia. He was 31 years old. He previously come to the attention of police for disorderly conduct and theft but had no direct connections with terrorists. During the search a gun, and also handguns and grenades have been found.

A truck had ploughed into crowd in high speed in downtown Nice on Thursday night, during Bastille Day celebrations. Subsequently, its driver opened fire on people before police shot him dead. Large quantities of weapons and explosives were found in the truck.
