The identity of the lorry driver was established. According to the Nice Matin newspaper, it was Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.

It is known that the driver was a French citizen born in Tunisia. He was 31 years old. Previously Mohamed came to the attention of police for disorderly conduct and theft but had no direct connections with terrorists.

Police are conducting a search of his home. During the search the gun, and also handguns and grants have been found.

A truck had ploughed into crowd in high speed in downtown Nice on Thursday night, during Bastille Day celebrations. Subsequently, its driver opened fire on people before police shot him dead. Large quantities of weapons and explosives were found in the truck. According to most recent reports, 84 people are dead and 18 others are in critical condition as a result of this terror attack.
