The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has identified the persons responsible for Samvel Khachatryan’s suicide in one of the military units.

The press service of the RA ministry of Defense informed NEWS.am that a group of conscripts committed an act of violence against Samvel Khachatryan, insulting him and humiliating him.

On October 3, at about 7:00 p.m., the body of Samvel Khachatryan (born in 1992) was found hanged in the basement of the barracks at one of the military units. Talking to journalists, Samvel’s sister rejected the official version (suicide). She said her brother had been brutally beaten up, multiple bruises and the fracture of the right wrist being evidence thereof. He was then strangled and hung to look as a suicide.

Samvel’s sister told the journalists that on October 1 her brother called homed and told he had problems with the battalion commander. According to some information, Samvel nodded off at one of the lessons. The commander slapped and insulted him for that. Later, however, the commander, and four other soldiers, beat Samvel up.
