Anti-Semitism or hostility towards the Jewish people is one of the oldest, widely spread and terrifying forms of hatred, said the UN Secretary General Ban Ki -moon, when addressing the issue of anti-Semitism during a forum.

According to him, despite the lessons that the history taught us and the horrors of the Holocaust, the Jews are still exposed to attacks, because of their religious affiliations. The UN chief stressed that the violence applied against people based on their religion or believes is a gross violation of the UN core values. He added that this kind of manifestation of fanaticism is one of the greatest threats in the modern world.

According to the UN Secretary General the history has repeatedly proved that the one who is harassing the minority, tomorrow himself may become a victim of such attacks. He called on the international community to unite efforts to ensure peaceful coexistence and decent life for all people.
